Tragic View of Life Dept.
Although I haven't used this space to promote it, I have long been devoted to the Tragic View of Life, which is cultivated by, well, northern Wisconsin (alongside corn and soybeans). But I was in no way prepared for a Halloween display at Eugene Field Elementary, where my job (which I'm good at and I love, especially if Jeff is reading) required me to be yesterday. It observed:
"In medias res, in morte sumus
In the midst of life, we are in death"
This was for, like, second graders.
This will be my last post on Evil Forces. I've spun off a blog of my own with some friends, which I'm tentatively calling The Private Intellectual: A Study in Decline. Come visit some time.
